Winemaker's Notes
This started out life more like the darker-fruited Old & Mature Vines Zin. At about 12 months in barrel, it settled into the ‘tell-Shale’ nectarine/stone fruit aroma more decisively than any past vintage. While lower in acidity than the OMV, it has a mineral, nearly chalky note that seems to come only from this small vineyard area.

Medium to medium-dark ruby; attractive, spicy, herbal, briary, red cherry fruit aroma with notes of charred oak and dill; full body; rich, textured, earthy, cedary. Ripe back cherry fruit flavors with a full, rounded mouth feel; well balanced; medium-full to full tannin; lingering aftertaste. Enjoyable to drink now. Highly recommended. 89 Points. Nick Ponomareff
