Winemaker's Notes
Of the Pinot Noirs we work with, this is on a very different soil and has its own signature. It reflects older-style viticultural choices (clones, rootstock and planting density) which I feel are well-suited to the site. Upon opening the bottle, beet root, cinnamon, slightly floral notes are there. On the mouth, it has good richness with great continuity, upward trajectory and long finish. On day 2 and 3 an open bottle settles into more of a dark cherry core and becomes a seamless unit on the palate. I think it has an extremely good upside to bottle aging.

The 2015 Pinot Noir King Vineyard is laced with hints of sweet tobacco, cedar, mint, dried flowers, dried cherries and crushed autumn leaves. Medium in body, fragrant and also quite earthy, with sinewy tannins, the King Pinot is slightly rustic and yet pleasing in its own way. It offers good energy and enough depth to drink well for at least a handful of years. 91 points. Antonio Galloni

Medium-light to medium ruby; attractive, dark cherry, raspberry, and blackberry fruit aroma with a light floral note and hints of Asian spices and cocoa; medium to medium-full body; tight, earthy, dark cherry and red berry fruit flavors with good depth and acid balance; medium tannin; lingering aftertaste. Enjoyable now, though also shows good bottle aging potential. Very highly recommended. My Score: 91/100. Nick Ponomareff

The nose is hard and sappy Luxardo cherry and licorice. The palate entry offers dusty black cherry and a tangy textured core of precise red berry. Drink 2020 – 2028. 93 Points. Doug Wilder
